The family of an Indian Army officer deployed at the India-Pakistan border is facing severe harassment and threats from local goons in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. The officer’s wife has alleged that criminals have been intimidating her and threatening to abduct her daughters, leaving the family in a state of fear.

The officer, Captain Vasrat Ali, was recently home on leave but was called back to duty following the Pahalgam terror attack and the launch of Operation Sindoor. His wife, Anjum, has reported that local troublemakers have been verbally abusing and intimidating her whenever she steps outside.
She further alleged that the criminals have been circulating her photographs on social media with malicious intent and demanding “goonda tax” on multiple occasions. When she approached the Bareilly police for protection, the threats escalated, with the accused warning that they could forcibly take her and her daughters away from their home.
Police Action and Appeal for Security
Following her complaint, the Bareilly police registered a case and launched an investigation. However, Anjum has stated that her family remains vulnerable, as they have yet to receive adequate security measures.
She has made a direct appeal to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, requesting urgent protection and intervention to ensure her family’s safety.
