The Foundational Literacy and Numeracy Assessment Test (FLNAT) 2025 has revealed that Tripura, Tamil Nadu, and Delhi are among the top-performing states in addressing adult literacy challenges. The assessment, conducted under the ULLAS – Nav Bharat Saaksharta Karyakram, evaluated over 1.77 crore adult learners across India.
🔴 Key Findings from FLNAT 2025:
- Tamil Nadu recorded a 100% success rate, certifying all 5,09,694 learners who appeared for the test.
- Tripura followed closely with a 98.1% success rate, certifying 13,909 of 14,179 learners.
- Delhi achieved a 99.3% success rate, certifying 7,901 of 7,959 candidates.
- Uttarakhand, Gujarat, and Himachal Pradesh lagged behind, with certification rates between 85.7% and 88.3%.
📢 Why This Matters:
- The FLNAT program helps illiterate adults gain foundational literacy and numeracy skills, enabling them to access better opportunities.
- The high success rates in Tripura, Tamil Nadu, and Delhi highlight effective education policies and strong community engagement.
- The national certification average stands at 19.4%, indicating the need for greater outreach and support in other states.
⚠️ Government’s Next Steps:
- The Ministry of Education aims to expand literacy programs and improve certification rates in underperforming states.
- Local volunteers and panchayat support have played a crucial role in the success of top-performing states.
