Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC K Kavitha has made explosive allegations, claiming that there was a conspiracy to merge BRS with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) while she was in jail in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case.

Speaking to reporters, Kavitha hinted at internal sabotage, accusing certain party insiders of attempting to sideline her and weaken BRS from within. She also indirectly targeted her brother, BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR), questioning his silence on key issues and the party’s lack of aggressive opposition against the Congress government.

Kavitha revealed that she opposed the merger proposal, stating, “I am willing to stay in jail for a year, but I will not allow BRS to be handed over to the BJP.” She also expressed disappointment over the leak of a private letter she had written to her father and party chief K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), in which she criticized the party’s soft stance on BJP during the BRS silver jubilee celebrations.

The MLC further alleged that paid social media workers were influencing the party’s direction and questioned why posters at the Warangal celebrations only featured KCR and KTR, suggesting an attempt to sideline her.

Despite the internal turmoil, Kavitha reaffirmed her loyalty to KCR, stating that she would only work under his leadership and dismissed speculation about forming a new political party. However, she hinted at a major announcement before Telangana Formation Day on June 2, leaving room for speculation about her next move.
