The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 delivered high-octane drama on Saturday as Inter Milan staged a stunning late comeback to defeat Urawa Red Diamonds 2-1, while Borussia Dortmund edged past Mamelodi Sundowns 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller that saw Jobe Bellingham score his debut goal for the Bundesliga giants.
⚫ Inter Milan 2-1 Urawa Red Diamonds: Carboni Seals It Late
At Seattle’s Lumen Field, Inter Milan found themselves trailing early after Ryoma Watanabe put Urawa ahead in the 11th minute. Despite dominating possession, the Serie A champions struggled to break down a resilient Japanese defense.
The breakthrough came in the 78th minute when Lautaro Martínez equalized with a spectacular bicycle kick from a corner. Then, in stoppage time, Valentín Carboni, returning from a long injury layoff, slotted home the winner to keep Inter’s knockout hopes alive.
“We had to suffer, but we showed pride and character,” said Martínez post-match.

After conceding early to Lucas Ribeiro, Dortmund responded with goals from Felix Nmecha, Serhou Guirassy, and Jobe Bellingham, who scored just before halftime in his first start for the club.
A second-half own goal by Khuliso Mudau made it 4-1, but Sundowns fought back with goals from Iqraam Rayners and Lebo Mothiba, nearly forcing a draw in the dying minutes.
“It was a sauna out there,” said Dortmund coach Niko Kovac. “But the boys showed grit.”
