Congress leader and Lok Sabha MP Gaurav Gogoi has officially assumed office as the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President at the party headquarters in Guwahati. Gogoi, who is also the Deputy Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha, was welcomed by senior party leaders, including Jitendra Singh, Rakibul Hussain, and Debabrata Saikia.

⚠️ Political Challenges Ahead:
- Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has accused Gogoi of having links with Pakistan’s military and intelligence agencies, allegations Gogoi has strongly denied.
- The Assam government formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the matter, with results expected by September 10.
