Bollywood actress Genelia Deshmukh has finally addressed one of the most bizarre rumours of her career—that she and co-star John Abraham were “accidentally married” during the filming of their 2011 action film Force. In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Genelia categorically denied the speculation, calling it “completely fabricated” and “PR-driven”.
“There was no truth to it. We didn’t get married. These stories were spread by PR, and I think you should ask them why they did it,” Genelia stated firmly.
🎬 The Origin of the Rumour
The rumour, which first surfaced in 2012, claimed that a wedding scene in Force was performed with real Hindu rituals, including mangalsutra exchange, garlands, mantras, and seven pheras, allegedly in the presence of a real priest. This led to wild speculation that the actors had unknowingly tied the knot on set.
💑 Real-Life Relationships
Genelia is happily married to actor Riteish Deshmukh since 2012, and the couple has two children. John Abraham, meanwhile, married investment banker Priya Runchal in 2014. Both actors have consistently maintained silence on the rumour—until now.
🎥 Genelia’s Comeback and Career
After a decade-long hiatus from lead roles, Genelia made a successful return with the 2022 Marathi hit Ved, directed by Riteish Deshmukh. She is now gearing up for her next big release, Sitaare Zameen Par, alongside Aamir Khan.
