Indian Air Force (IAF) Chief Air Chief Marshal AP Singh has emphasized the urgent need for self-reliance in the defense sector, stating that “Aatmanirbharta is the only solution” for India to be future-ready.
Speaking at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Annual Business Summit, Singh highlighted the changing nature of warfare, citing Operation Sindoor as a clear indicator of India’s future defense requirements. He urged the industry to accelerate indigenous production, ensuring that India is prepared for emerging security challenges.
Singh also welcomed the government’s decision to allow private sector participation in the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) program, calling it a bold step toward strengthening India’s aerospace capabilities.
The IAF Chief’s remarks align with Defense Minister Rajnath Singh’s vision, who reiterated that Make-in-India is essential for national security and plays a key role in India’s defense strategy.
