India’s Coffee Exports Surge 25% in FY25-26, Driven by Sustainability and Global Demand

India’s coffee sector is brewing success on the global stage, with the Coffee Board of India reporting a 25% surge in exports in the first quarter of FY25-26. This robust growth follows a record-breaking FY24-25, where exports jumped 40.2% to USD 1.8 billion (₹15,292 crore) from USD 1.28 billion (₹10,645 crore) the previous year.

🌍 India’s Global Coffee Footprint Expands

India now ranks as the world’s seventh-largest coffee producer, contributing 3.5% to global output, and the fifth-largest exporter, accounting for 5% of global coffee exports.

  • Aggressive global promotion of 13 regional and 3 specialty coffees
  • Geographical Indication (GI) tags secured for 7 Indian coffee varieties
  • Digital campaigns highlighting India’s shade-grown, hand-picked, sun-dried beans
  • Buyer-seller meets and trade fairs to boost international visibility

🛒 Domestic Push and Startup Ecosystem

The Coffee Board is also driving domestic consumption through platforms like ONDC, Amazon, and Flipkart, while supporting innovation via the Atal Incubation Centre – CCRI – Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (AIC-CCRI-CED) in Bengaluru.
