As part of their ongoing training program, 35 officers from the 2025 batch of the Meghalaya Civil Service (MCS) visited South West Garo Hills (SWGH) to gain hands-on experience in grassroots governance, law enforcement, and border security.
Key Highlights of the Exposure Visit
- Interactive Session at DRDA Conference Hall: Officers engaged with district administrative officials and the Superintendent of Police, discussing governance challenges and law enforcement strategies.
- Visit to Garobadha Primary Health Centre (PHC): Trainees observed rural healthcare delivery models, understanding medical infrastructure and accessibility issues.
- Tour of Godalgre Cluster Model Training Centre (CMTC): Officers explored livelihood initiatives under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), managed by the Meghalaya State Rural Livelihoods Society (MSRLS).
- Border Haat and Security Briefing: The trainees visited the International Border and Kalaichar Border Haat, gaining insights into cross-border trade, security coordination, and economic activities.
