Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni once again showcased his trademark wit during the toss ahead of the IPL 2025 clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
As Dhoni won the toss and opted to bowl, former India head coach Ravi Shastri asked him about CSK’s strategy to counter RCB’s aggressive batting in the powerplay. In classic Dhoni style, he responded with a cheeky one-liner: “Let it be plans, Ravi bhai.”
The exchange drew laughter from the crowd and set the tone for an exciting match. RCB’s openers, Jacob Bethell and Virat Kohli, capitalized on the powerplay, scoring 71 runs in the first six overs. Bethell smashed a 55-run knock off 33 balls, while Kohli contributed 62 off 33 balls.
CSK, struggling in IPL 2025, entered the match with just two wins in ten games. Dhoni, who took over the captaincy mid-season following Ruturaj Gaikwad’s injury, emphasized that the team is focusing on long-term planning for the next season.
Despite CSK’s challenges, Dhoni’s leadership and humor continue to be a highlight of the tournament. Fans eagerly await whether his strategic decisions will turn the tide for the team in the remaining matches.
