As tensions escalate in West Asia following US airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, the Indian government has intensified its evacuation efforts under Operation Sindhu, successfully repatriating 1,713 Indian nationals from Iran. The latest special flight, carrying 285 evacuees from Mashhad, landed in New Delhi late Saturday night, with Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita receiving the returnees at IGI Airport.

The evacuees hail from multiple states including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Gujarat. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has confirmed that three more evacuation flights from Iran are scheduled over the next few days to bring back remaining Indian nationals stranded in the conflict-hit region.
“We are in constant contact with Indian nationals in Iran and Israel. Our priority is their safety and swift return,” said MoS Margherita.

The Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv has urged all nationals to register immediately and obtain valid travel documents to facilitate safe passage through Jordan and Egypt.
