Prime Minister Narendra Modi has hailed Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the 14-year-old cricket sensation, for his record-breaking century in the IPL 2025, calling him a shining example of dedication and fearless cricket.

Speaking at the Khelo India Youth Games inauguration in Bihar, Modi praised Suryavanshi’s 35-ball hundred for Rajasthan Royals against Gujarat Titans, highlighting the hard work and perseverance behind his success. “At such a young age, Vaibhav has set a great record. There is a lot of hard work behind his performance,” Modi stated.

Modi emphasized the importance of consistent competition in shaping young athletes, urging India’s youth to train diligently and seize every opportunity. He also reiterated his government’s commitment to promoting sports, citing initiatives like the inclusion of traditional disciplines such as Gatka, Kho-Kho, and Malkhamb in the Khelo India Youth Games.

Suryavanshi’s stunning knock, which included 11 sixes and 7 boundaries, has made him the youngest player to score a T20 century, further solidifying his status as a rising star in Indian cricket.
