India’s renowned horticulturist Kalimullah Khan, popularly known as the ‘Mango Man’, has introduced a new mango variety named ‘Rajnath Aam’ in honor of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. The mango was developed using Khan’s signature grafting technique in his Malihabad orchard, a region famous for its mango cultivation.
🔴 Key Highlights:
- Khan has previously named mango varieties after prominent figures like Sachin Tendulkar, Aishwarya Rai, Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, and Sonia Gandhi.
- The ‘Rajnath Aam’ is a tribute to Singh’s leadership, particularly his firm stance on national security and peace efforts.
- Malihabad once had over 1,300 mango varieties, but many have disappeared over time. Khan has worked to preserve and revive over 300 varieties.
📢 Kalimullah Khan’s Statement:
- “I name my mangoes after people who have served the country meaningfully. I want these names to live on for generations.”
- “Sometimes people forget great leaders, but if a mango reminds them of Rajnath Singh’s good work, then it’s worth it.”
⚠️ Cultural & Agricultural Impact:

- Encourages preservation of rare mango varieties, ensuring future generations can enjoy diverse flavors.
