In a landmark event at Rashtrapati Bhavan, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh released ‘Wings to Our Hopes – Volume II’, a curated compilation of 51 speeches by President Droupadi Murmu, describing it as a “karma granth” and a guiding light toward achieving the government’s Viksit Bharat 2047 goal.
A Chronicle of Vision and Values
The speeches, delivered during President Murmu’s second year in office (August 2023–July 2024), span a wide range of themes—from innovation, women’s empowerment, and education to cultural heritage, equality, and national development. The collection, available in English, Hindi (Ashaon Ki Udaan – Khand 2), and e-book formats, was compiled by Rashtrapati Bhavan and published by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
“A Guiding Light for Future Generations”
Calling the book a blueprint for a developed India, Singh emphasized that it reflects the essence of India’s inclusive character, blending tradition with progress. “This book will become a means to achieve the 2047 goal of making a Viksit Bharat,” he said, highlighting Murmu’s deep understanding of diversity and her empathy for the marginalized.
He also praised the President’s thoughts on morality in public life, sensitivity in governance, and innovation-driven development, aligning them with the national priorities under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

Singh lauded President Murmu as a shining example of women-led progress, noting her inspirational journey and her role as Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces during key operations like Operation Sindoor. Her speeches, he said, embody the spirit of selfless service, equality, and national pride.

Union Ministers Ashwini Vaishnaw and L. Murugan also attended the event, underscoring the significance of the release. Vaishnaw described the book as a window into the First Citizen’s perspective on contemporary India and a valuable resource for future generations.
