In a significant boost to its debt reduction strategy, Reliance Infrastructure Ltd (RInfra) has announced the full repayment of a ₹273 crore loan—including interest—taken by its wholly owned subsidiary JR Toll Road Pvt Ltd (JRTR) from Yes Bank. The repayment, formalized through an addendum to a previous settlement agreement, also releases RInfra from its corporate guarantee obligations.

🔧 Strategic Debt Clearance

The loan, previously classified as a non-performing asset (NPA) due to JRTR’s financial stress and arbitration proceedings with the National Highways Authority of India, has now been fully settled. This move marks a key milestone in RInfra’s ongoing financial cleanup, aligning with its broader goal of deleveraging and improving operational efficiency.

“This agreement concludes all outstanding dues with Yes Bank for JR Toll Road and discharges Reliance Infra’s guarantee obligations,” the company stated in a regulatory filing.

JRTR was established to develop and operate a 52-km stretch of National Highway 11 between Jaipur and Reengus in Rajasthan under the DBFOT model. Operational since 2013, the project has played a vital role in regional connectivity and economic development.

📈 Market Reaction

Following the announcement, Reliance Infra shares rose by 0.65% to ₹374, while Yes Bank traded slightly higher at ₹19.78 on the BSE, reflecting investor confidence in the resolution and RInfra’s financial discipline.

🧭 Looking Ahead

This development is part of RInfra’s broader strategy to streamline its balance sheet, having already reduced its standalone net debt by ₹3,300 crore in FY 2024–25. The company continues to focus on infrastructure, defence, and energy verticals while reinforcing its commitment to financial stability.
