In a major milestone for India’s high-speed rail ambitions, a Siemens-led consortium has bagged a ₹4,100 crore contract from the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) to deliver advanced signalling and telecommunication systems for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train corridor.
Consortium Partners and Scope of Work
The winning consortium includes Siemens Limited, Siemens Mobility GmbH, and Dineshchandra R Agrawal Infracon Pvt Ltd. Siemens’ share in the contract is valued at ₹1,230 crore.
- The project involves the design, installation, and 15-year maintenance of European Train Control System (ETCS) Level 2 technologies
- The system will support train operations at speeds up to 350 km/h, enabling real-time supervision, wireless communication, and centralized traffic control
Execution Timeline and Strategic Significance
The project is slated for completion in 54 months, with Siemens providing long-term maintenance to ensure lifecycle reliability.

Part of National Rail Plan 2030
The Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) corridor spans 508 km and is a flagship initiative under India’s National Rail Plan 2030, aimed at modernizing infrastructure and boosting high-speed connectivity.
