Trent Boult Reacts to Facing 14-Year-Old Vaibhav Suryavanshi in IPL 2025

2 1

Mumbai Indians’ pace spearhead Trent Boult has weighed in on the excitement surrounding Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the 14-year-old Rajasthan Royals batter who stunned the cricketing world with a 38-ball century against Gujarat Titans. Boult, ahead of MI’s clash against RR, acknowledged the hype but maintained that he is not “worried” about bowling to the teenager.

“I have bowled to some brilliant batsmen around the world—Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers—all the quality that comes in these tournaments. I think I’ll be careful not to say I’m worried about a 14-year-old,” Boult stated.

Despite his composed stance, Boult admitted that facing Suryavanshi would be an “exciting challenge,” given the youngster’s fearless approach and red-hot form. The Kiwi pacer praised Suryavanshi’s record-breaking knock, calling it one of the standout moments of IPL 2025.

“The whole world saw that performance the other night. It was a quality knock from such a young kid. That’s the beauty of this tournament—young players grabbing their chance and making the most of it,” Boult added.

With Mumbai Indians riding a five-match winning streak, Boult emphasized the importance of continuous improvement, stating that MI still has room to get “five or ten percent better.”

As MI prepares to take on RR at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, all eyes will be on whether Boult can outfox the fearless teenager, who has already etched his name in IPL history.
