Czech tennis legend Petra Kvitova, a two-time Wimbledon champion, has officially announced that she will retire from professional tennis following the 2025 US Open, bringing an illustrious 19-year career to a close. The 35-year-old made the announcement on social media, just a day after receiving a wild card entry for Wimbledon 2025.

“I am excited and very much looking forward to soak in the beauty of playing The Championships, Wimbledon one more time, a place that holds the most cherished memories in my career,” Kvitova wrote.

Currently ranked No. 572, Kvitova will rely on wild cards to compete in her final Wimbledon and US Open appearances. Despite recent struggles with form and injuries, fans and fellow players are eager to celebrate her farewell tour.
