- The 17-year-old Indian shuttler, ranked 53rd in the world, secured a hard-fought quarterfinal victory against Chinese Taipei’s Hung Yi-Ting (21-8, 19-21, 21-19).
- Hooda had earlier defeated Chinese Taipei’s Lin Sih-Yun in straight sets (21-12, 21-7).
- She will now take on top-seeded Tomoka Miyazaki of Japan in the semifinals.
