In a major push toward industrial transformation, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced the development of two Integrated Manufacturing Clusters (IMCs) in Agra and Prayagraj, with a combined investment of ₹1,046 crore. The initiative aims to boost manufacturing, attract private investment, and generate large-scale employment, particularly for local youth.
🏗️ Project Highlights
- Agra IMC: Spread across 1,058 acres in Rahan Kalan
- Prayagraj IMC: Covers 351 acres in Karchana block
- Developed under a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) with equal participation from the central and state governments
- Backed by the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC) for funding and technical support
🔧 Infrastructure & Industry Focus
The IMCs will feature:
- World-class infrastructure: Roads, power and water supply, ICT services, and green zones
- Manufacturing units across sectors
- R&D and innovation hubs
- Skill development centers and incubation facilities to support traditional industries and startups
The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) will provide land and oversee project execution, with a 36-month completion target.

Officials say the clusters will:
- Accelerate industrial growth in the state
- Create thousands of jobs
- Enhance UP’s business-friendly image by offering a plug-and-play industrial ecosystem
- Position Agra and Prayagraj as model industrial cities
“These IMCs will redefine the industrial identity of Agra and Prayagraj, placing them prominently on India’s manufacturing map,” said a senior official.
