Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) pacer Yash Dayal has admitted that he was fortunate to dismiss MS Dhoni in the final over of their IPL 2025 clash against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Defending 15 runs in the last over, Dayal managed to trap Dhoni LBW with a well-executed low full toss, shifting the momentum in RCB’s favor. Speaking after the match, Dayal revealed that he had no intention of taking a wicket, focusing instead on executing his deliveries properly.
The dismissal proved crucial as RCB secured a narrow two-run victory, pushing them to the top of the points table. Despite a tense finish, including a waist-high no-ball and a six from Shivam Dube, Dayal held his nerve to close out the game.
Dhoni, reflecting on the match, took responsibility for CSK’s loss, stating that he should have converted a few more shots to ease the pressure.
With this win, RCB continues its strong campaign in IPL 2025, while CSK faces an uphill battle to stay in playoff contention.
