FSSAI Halts CG Foods Veg Bhujia Production Over Quality Violations

Regulatory Action Against CG Foods India

The national food safety regulator in India has taken firm action against CG Foods India, the well-known manufacturer behind popular snack products including Wai Wai noodles. Authorities have officially instructed the company to halt the manufacturing of its veg bhujia product line following a comprehensive inspection.

Seizure of Substandard Stock

During the recent enforcement operation, officials intercepted and seized a massive quantity of inventory at the manufacturing facility. Records indicate that a total of 32,107.2 kilograms of food stock was confiscated directly on-site to prevent it from reaching consumers.

Identified Violations and Safety Concerns

The intervention by the regulatory body was prompted by multiple severe compliance failures discovered during the facility assessment. Inspectors flagged critical issues involving predated packaging practices, which mislead consumers regarding product freshness and shelf life. Additionally, authorities identified significant compromises in product integrity, noting widespread broken noodles and substandard manufacturing conditions within the inspected batches.

Ongoing Monitoring and Enforcement

Food safety authorities continue to monitor manufacturing facilities nationwide to ensure strict adherence to established standards. This recent crackdown underscores the commitment of regulatory agencies to hold major food corporations accountable and to protect public health by removing compromised products from the commercial market.
