West Bengal Chief Minister Adhikari Helicopter Forced to Return Due to Bad Weather in Kalimpong

Adverse Weather Disrupts Official Travel

Inclement weather conditions recently disrupted official travel arrangements for West Bengal Chief Minister Adhikari, preventing his aircraft from completing a scheduled landing in the Himalayan district of Kalimpong.

Pilot Evaluates Landing Options

Chief Minister Adhikari described the situation, explaining how his transport hovered directly above the designated helipad located within the district headquarters. During this time, the pilot carefully assessed the surrounding airspace and weather parameters to determine whether a safe descent was possible.

Return to Siliguri

Due to the persistent poor visibility and unfavorable atmospheric conditions at the destination, the landing attempt was ultimately deemed unsafe. Consequently, the aircraft was forced to abandon the approach and return safely to Siliguri.

Ensuring Safety in Aviation

Official travel in mountainous regions frequently presents unique meteorological challenges. Aviation protocols prioritize passenger and crew safety above all else, often requiring immediate diversions or cancellations when unpredictable weather patterns emerge unexpectedly.
