Ram Temple Trust Treasurer Dismisses Rumors of Dissension Amid Administrative Reforms

Govind Dev Giri, the treasurer of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, officially addressed mounting speculation this week by confirming that veteran leader Champat Rai remains fully supportive of the temple’s ongoing administrative restructuring. Speaking from Ayodhya, Giri clarified that reports suggesting friction or dissatisfaction regarding Rai’s shifting role within the management system are unfounded, emphasizing that the transition is part of a broader effort to streamline operations at the site.

Context of the Administrative Shift

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust was established by the Indian government to oversee the construction and management of the Ram Mandir. Since the temple’s inauguration, the organization has navigated the complexities of managing massive daily footfalls and intricate logistical requirements.

As the project transitions from a construction phase to a permanent operational phase, the Trust has moved to refine its internal governance. These organizational changes are designed to formalize departmental oversight and ensure long-term sustainability for the temple’s daily rituals and visitor services.

Addressing Internal Dynamics

Rumors regarding Champat Rai’s status emerged following reports of a potential redistribution of responsibilities among senior trust members. Rai, who has been a pivotal figure in the movement for decades, has long been viewed as the face of the temple’s administrative efforts.

Govind Dev Giri sought to quell these narratives by highlighting Rai’s lifelong commitment to the cause.
