In a major boost to West Bengal’s industrial landscape, Dhunseri Group has announced a ₹1,000 crore investment to expand its Panagarh facility through its subsidiary Dhunseri Poly Films Ltd. (DPFPL). The expansion includes the installation of two new production lines—one for BOPET (Biaxially Oriented Polyethylene Terephthalate) and another for BOPP (Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene)—used extensively in food and non-food packaging.

🏭 Expansion Highlights

  • Location: WBIDC Industrial Park, Panagarh, West Bengal
  • Investment: ₹1,000 crore
  • New Lines: 1 BOPET + 1 BOPP
  • Commissioning Target: March 2027
  • Installed Capacity by 2029:
    • BOPET: 1.2 lakh tonnes
    • BOPP: 2.1 lakh tonnes
  • Funding Structure: 70:30 debt-to-equity ratio

Group Chairman C.K. Dhanuka confirmed that the proposal will be tabled for board approval by August 2025. The company already operates a BOPP line at the Panagarh site, which became operational in 2024.

🌍 Strategic Growth and Global Footprint

This investment is part of Dhunseri’s broader strategy to strengthen its position in the flexible packaging segment. Earlier this month, the group also laid the foundation for two BOPP plants in Kathua, Jammu, and operates a PET resin plant in Haldia through a joint venture with Indo Rama Group, which also has facilities in Egypt and Panipat.

Stay tuned for updates on board approvals and commissioning milestones.
