Raipur, Chhattisgarh – October 26, 2023 – The Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CPCC) has announced an indefinite protest following the booking of a key party leader, Devendra Yadav, under the Arms Act. The Congress alleges this action, occurring during the crucial Shivnandanpur Nagar Panchayat election campaigning, is a politically motivated attempt by the ruling party to influence the outcome of the upcoming local polls.

Political Tensions Escalate Amidst Local Elections

The Shivnandanpur Nagar Panchayat elections are scheduled for November 1, with campaigning intensifying in the final days. The booking of Devendra Yadav, a prominent Congress leader and the party’s election in-charge for the Nagar Panchayat, has ignited a firestorm of protest from the opposition party.
