Indian Railways Hits Milestone with 100th Vande Bharat Train Rollout

Indian Railways officially marked a significant industrial milestone this week as the 100th Vande Bharat trainset rolled off the production line at the Modern Coach Factory in Raebareli. This achievement represents a rapid scaling of the semi-high-speed rail program, which first debuted on the national network in 2018 to revitalize India’s aging passenger fleet.

A Rapid Evolution in Rail Infrastructure

The Vande Bharat project was launched as a flagship initiative to replace legacy locomotive-hauled trains with modern, self-propelled electric multiple units (EMUs).
