Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a two-day visit to Maharashtra, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh on May 1 and 2, during which he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several key projects aimed at boosting infrastructure, trade, and innovation across the nation.

Key Highlights of the Visit

  1. Maharashtra
    On May 1, PM Modi will inaugurate the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES 2025) at the Jio World Centre, Mumbai. This first-of-its-kind summit in India aims to position the country as a global hub for media, entertainment, and digital innovation. The event will feature participation from over 90 countries, with 10,000 delegates, 1,000 creators, and 350 startups.
  2. Kerala
    On May 2, the Prime Minister will dedicate the Vizhinjam International Deepwater Multipurpose Seaport to the nation. This ₹8,900 crore project is India’s first dedicated container transshipment port, strategically located near one of the world’s busiest sea trade routes. The port is expected to enhance India’s logistics efficiency and reduce reliance on foreign ports for cargo transshipment.
  3. Andhra Pradesh
    Later on May 2, PM Modi will visit Amaravati, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth over ₹58,000 crore. These include seven National Highway projects, railway projects, and the PM Ekta Mall in Visakhapatnam, which aims to promote indigenous products and empower rural artisans. Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for a missile test range at Nagayalanka, enhancing India’s defense capabilities.
