India’s Answer to Su-30MKI & Rafale: DRDO Develops 6th-Gen Stealth Fighter Jets for IAF!

Nothing 28 4

India is making a giant leap in air combat technology, as the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) advances its sixth-generation stealth fighter jet program under the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) initiative.

🔴 Key Highlights:

  • India’s squadron strength is critically low, with only 30 squadrons instead of the required 42–43, creating an urgent need for 200–300 new fighter jets.
  • The AMCA program will introduce two variantsAMCA Mark-1 (bridging the current gap) and AMCA Mark-2, which will feature cutting-edge sixth-generation technologies.
  • Mark-1 will initially use General Electric’s F414 engines, but Mark-2 will rely on an indigenous 120 kN engine, developed by DRDO’s Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE).
  • India will join an elite club of nations—the US, China, and Russia—developing sixth-generation fighter jets.
  • AI-driven combat systems, enhanced stealth, and drone control capabilities will be integrated into the AMCA Mark-2, making it one of the most advanced fighter jets globally.

📢 Strategic Impact:

  • India’s air superiority will be significantly boosted, countering threats from China’s J-20 stealth fighters and Pakistan’s potential fifth-gen acquisitions.
  • The indigenous engine development will reduce reliance on foreign suppliers, strengthening India’s defense self-sufficiency.
