Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has praised the Indian Army for its decisive strikes under Operation Sindoor, stating that India has set an unprecedented global benchmark by eliminating over 100 terrorists in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Speaking at a press conference on May 11, Sarma emphasized that no country has ever conducted such a large-scale elimination of militants in another nation, reinforcing India’s zero-tolerance policy on terrorism.

Operation Sindoor: A Strategic Military Offensive

The operation, led by Director General Military Operations (DGMO) Lt. Gen. Rajiv Ghai, targeted nine terror hubs, eliminating high-value targets linked to the 1999 IC-814 hijacking and the 2019 Pulwama attack.

Sarma lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the armed forces for their decisive action, stating, “The Prime Minister kept his word. For the first time, India killed over 100 terrorists using missiles. If Pakistan violates the ceasefire, Indian forces will give a befitting reply.”

Pakistan’s Response & Ceasefire Agreement

Following the strikes, Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire, but tensions remain high. The Indian Air Force and Navy played a crucial role in precision targeting, ensuring minimal collateral damage.

Global Reactions & Future Implications

India’s military action has drawn international attention, with analysts calling it a game-changer in counterterrorism operations. The strikes have forced several terror hubs to shut down, with militants abandoning their bases in fear of further retaliation.

As India continues to strengthen its national security, Sarma reaffirmed that the country will not hesitate to act against terrorism, regardless of geographical boundaries.
